Door takeoff
Door takeoff
The schedule says one thing. The plans say another.
A door schedule is a tidy table of types and counts. The floor plans are where the doors actually are. On a real set those two disagree — a type that appears on three plans and once in the schedule, a tag that exists nowhere else — and the disagreement is nobody’s job to find until it turns up on site.
- Tags by geometryDoor tags are lifted off the plans by how they are drawn, sheet by sheet, rather than read out of a text layer that may not exist.
- Matched to the scheduleThen set against the schedule, so a type that appears in one and not the other is surfaced instead of quietly reconciled.
- Earlier counts keptA revision is compared against what was counted last time. The question is what changed, not what the number is from scratch.
- The same disciplineNothing is called firm until two methods agree, and anything uncertain comes back as a box for a person to tick.
It is the window engine, pointed at doors. Same reading, same cross-check, same refusal to produce a confident number it cannot stand behind — because a door miscount costs exactly what a window miscount costs, and gets found at exactly the same late moment.
